Alex Jones has revealed her daughter's baby name while breastfeeding her newborn live on TV.

The presenter, 44, told viewers of The One Show on Wednesday night that she and her husband, Charlie Thomson, had decided to name their new baby Annie.

"It's feeding time at the zoo here!" Jones revealed while breastfeeding the infant.

When asked where her two older children, sons Teddy, four and Kit, two, were, the new mother-of-three explained that they were "eating spaghetti bolognese in the kitchen" while their new little sister stayed with her mum for "feeding time".

Earlier in the week Jones appeared on the show for the first time since welcoming her newborn, but told the audience that she wouldn't be able to reveal her daughter's name until Wednesday night as her husband's parents didn't know it yet.

"I think it's only fair that we tell granny and grandad first," she said.

"But, I'm really happy to pop back tomorrow night if you want and let you know!"

The presenter welcomed Annie on 21 August, breaking the news on social media that the family had a new addition.

"We have some news......... Our beautiful daughter came safely into the world on Saturday afternoon 21.08.21," the presenter revealed alongside a sweet snapshot of their little one's tiny feet.

"Tiny, but perfectly formed we are all beyond happy and besotted by her, especially Ted and Kit.

"Watching them with their brand new little sister is just the best and we can't believe how lucky we are to have the three of them and to be a family of five. It still doesn't feel real!!!

"Thank you to everyone at the Queen Charlotte hospital for all your support again, especially super midwife Audrey."

According to Babycentre, the name Annie is an English pet form of Anna, from the Hebrew Hanna, meaning "grace".

Meanwhile Nameberry describes the moniker Annie as "one of the most open and optimistic, the-sun'll-come-out-tomorrow type of names".

"It strikes a nice old-fashioned-but-jaunty chord that still has appeal, but we do suggest that you consider putting a more formal version on her birth certificate," the site adds.

Jones had previously said she and her husband plan not to have any more children for environmental reasons.

But in March on The One Show, she revealed they had received “some really unexpected news” over lockdown and were expecting a baby girl.

Jones and Thomson tied the knot at Cardiff Castle in 2015 in a ceremony that featured both English and Welsh.

In 2017, Jones welcomed her first child, Teddy, at the age of 39, and in May 2019 she gave birth to a boy named Kit.
