AJ Odudu has shared her fears that she may miss Saturday's Strictly Come Dancing final after injuring her foot so badly that she can't stand on it.

The TV presenter was thrilled to make it into the series final with Kai Widdrington, but ligament damage to her foot has left her future in the competition hanging in the balance.

Speaking to Yahoo and other media with her foot bandaged up, Odudu said: "I've hurt the ligament in my arch and I can't put any weight on my foot at all.

"So we have missed a lot of training because I can't stand up, I'm on crutches and I'm doing everything I can to try and be there on Saturday night."

Because of her injury, Odudu and Widdrington have barely trained since Monday - despite having to perform three dances in Saturday night's live final.

Odudu added that the stress was even greater because they had chosen three high-energy dances in their bid to win the Glitterball Trophy, which include two from earlier in the series and a new showdance.

She said: "It's just really frustrating actually because the two dances that we are repeating from the series, I've not performed them in weeks and weeks, and they're energy-inducing dances so on Monday we were optimistic because we were like, the steps are there, just got to build up the stamina to give it socks on Saturday night.

"And then our showdance is beautiful, epic. You need the practise in order to give it everything.

"So I am at this moment in time very frustrated and upset, but out main focus is my foot and how we can make it on Saturday."

If Odudu and Widdrington are able to compete in Saturday's final, they will go up against Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice, and John Whaite and Johannes Radebe.

Strictly Come Dancing's final airs on Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
