Matthew McConaughey faces backlash after sharing the intimate nature of his father's death
Matthew McConaughey is facing a backlash after sharing details about how his father died of a heart attack during sex with his mother.
The Oscar-winner is currently promoting his memoir Greenlights and the book has revealed how his dad Jim died “when he climaxed” during sex with his mum Kay.
Fans have labelled the 50-year-old “classless” online, with some asking if he had received his mother’s permission before sharing the details.

An extract published in People magazine reads: “I got a call from my mom. ‘Your dad died.’ My knees buckled. I couldn’t believe it.
“He was my dad. Nobody or nothing could kill him. Except mom.
“He’d always told me and my brothers, ‘Boys, when I go, I’m gonna be makin’ love to your mother.’ And that’s what happened. He had a heart attack when he climaxed.”
The information was not received well by many on social media.
One person wrote on Twitter: “Is that not something incredibly private? I had no reason to know this. Is that what a grieving son does? Puts his mother’s intimacy in the news? What a classless loser.”
Someone else tweeted: “What an appalling thing to share.”
Another asked: “Did his mother give him permission to share this with the public?”
Many accused the star of sharing too much information while others found the story humorous, with many claiming it was the best way to go.

McConaughey has previously shared the tale during an appearance on the Howard Stern Show.
Het told host Stern how his parents had an on-again-off-again relationship that lasted almost 40 years and included getting married three times, divorced twice and raising three children.
“They were wild,” McConaughey laughed.
