Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara 'welcome a son'

92nd Academy Awards - Red Carpet

Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara have welcomed a baby boy into the world, and have named him River, after the Joker star's late brother, according to director Viktor Kossakovsky.

The director appeared to let the news slip at the 2020 Zurich film festival, while he was explaining Phoenix's absence from promotional duties for new film. Gunda.

"He just got a baby by the way ... A beautiful son called River", Kossakovsky was recorded saying.
