The producers of hit BBC drama Normal People issued a takedown request to Pornhub after a 22-minute compilation of sex scenes from the show was uploaded to the site.

Since its release on BBC Three, the 12-part adaptation of Sally Rooney's bestselling novel has become one of the most acclaimed TV series of 2020.

Ed Guiney, executive producer of Normal People, told Variety he was "hugely disappointed" to see excerpts from the show appear on Pornhub.

He added: "It's both a violation of copyright and more importantly, it's deeply disrespectful to the actors involved and to the wider creative team."

Speaking of dresses, this ebony number was the highlight of Marianne and Connell's scenic bike ride. Plus, the delicate spaghetti straps are casually offset with a pair of white trainers.

Dungarees are a fail-safe off-duty staple, made memorable when layered over a netted top with a coloured bra peeking through and a messy bun.

I can't even deal with this whole situation. The sapphire blue velvet, the muted burgundy blazer. The necklace? 100% yes.

Boom! Off to a solid start with this '60s-inspired floral mini dress and half-up-half-down 'do that's practically made for relaxing around the pool in Italy.

The BBC adaptation of Sally Rooney's novel, Normal People, has been a welcomed distraction during lockdown. Not only has it introduced us to some new faces (hello, Paul Mescal!) and offered the perfect binge-watching opportunity, the show's characters are also one big fashion mood.

Of course, no discussion of Normal People style can go by without first mentioning Connell's chain which has, rightfully, reached cult status - did you know its even got a dedicated Instagram fan account now? But it's the story's heroine, Marianne (played by Daisy Edgar-Jones), who has us wanting to overhaul our entire wardrobes.

From endless summer dresses to that sapphire blue velvet evening number, Marianne continuously serves look after look, whatever the occasion.

TV characters often inspire their own trends (think: Blair Waldorf's headbands in Gossip Girl or Rachel Green's mum jeans in Friends) but there's something less considered about Marianne's style - in a good way.

Instead of buying into specific 'trends', she has a different attitude to fashion altogether. In fact, she seems almost ambivalent to what's 'in' which is quite refreshing. Instead, she just wears whatever she wants. Maybe it's her effortlessly cool shaggy fringe or the fact her outfits are notably fuss-free, but there's no denying Marianne is our new understated fashion muse.

Here we round up the Irish icon's best style moments...

The adult website, which averages 100 billion video views each year, complied with the request, but the video remains online via other file sharing and streaming websites.

Corey Price, Pornhub's vice president, told Variety the site is "fully compliant" with copyright law and removes videos as soon as it is alerted to any infringement.

Normal People follows the relationship between teenagers Marianne (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Connell (Paul Mescal).

Directorial duties on the 12 episodes are split between Room filmmaker Lenny Abrahamson and Hettie Macdonald, who is best known for the standout 2007 Doctor Who episode Blink.

Rooney's 2018 novel was longlisted for the Booker Prize and was also crowned Waterstones Book of the Year.

The series has received rave reviews from critics since its release, securing an 88% approval score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The site's critical consensus reads: "Anchored by Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal vulnerable performances, Normal People is at once intimate and illuminating, beautifully translating the nuances of its source material."

Normal People is available to stream on BBC iPlayer now.
