Robbie Williams has opened up on his recent self-isolation from family and claims his symptoms “went away” after turning to prayer.

The singer returned to LA after visiting Australia last month and went in to self-quarantine away from family after picking up symptoms linked to the coronavirus.

The 21-day stint saw the Angels star holed away in a nearby AirBnB as wife Ayda and their four children, daughter Theodora, aged seven, son Charlton, aged 5, daughter Colette 18 months, and month-old son Beau, were at the family home.

But not content with a Lemsip and a few early nights, the spiritual former Take That star took to prayer and meditation to ward off the deadly virus, which has been linked with the death of thousands across the globe - and he claims it worked.

Williams told The Sun on Sunday: “I could feel my body was getting lethargic and tired and heavy and I convinced myself I’d got coronavirus.

“I never normally do it but I got down on my knees and prayed. I thought about my wife and family.

“Within 30 seconds I had lifted my vibration and was in love,” he went on, before adding: “And you know what? The symptoms went away and the fear went away”.

While prayer may have been a comfort for Williams, those suffering with symptoms linked to the virus are urged to follow NHS guidelines.

It must have been a difficult time for Williams and family, who announced the birth of baby Beau on Valentine’s Day this year.

Such a young baby changes dramatically in the space of three weeks, and it must have been tough for the star not to be able to witness it first hand.

His relief at being reunited with his family was palpable when Mrs Williams shared a touching video of the moment on social media.

The poignant clip shows the Williams clan running and shouting daddy to meet their pop star father after his three weeks in self-isolation.

The post was captioned: “After 3 weeks...REUNITED! So happy to have daddy home after separate quarantines.”
