Susanna Reid clashes with Piers Morgan over his criticism of 'pathetic' Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Susanna Reid has slammed her Good Morning Britain co-star Piers Morgan after he hit out at “pathetic” Prince Harry’s “whining”.Losing her cool on Monday, 20 January, Reid hit back at Morgan, asking: “Why do you have you keep having a go at him?

She continued: “He’s made a decision that he and Meghan couldn’t be happy in the royal family, doing that duty you said he had to do. Why can’t they decide that actually it’s not how they want to…”

Former tabloid editor Morgan, never one to let go a fight, then interrupted to repeat “it’s pathetic, it’s pathetic”, and insisted that the pair can “do whatever they like” but that he was within his rights to criticise when Harry “literally made a speech whining again”.

“When you say leave them alone – they never stop yapping!” he added.

“You never stop yapping,” shot back Susanna to which Piers replied: “But I don’t ask you to leave me alone!”

Piers has long been a vocal critic of the pair, who in the past week made the shock announcement that they were stepping back as senior members of the Royal Family and becoming financially independent.

The pair hinted their decision was as a response to racism, which Piers called a “disgraceful smear” on the British public.

The TV presenter has not been afraid to hit out at the pair, previously calling them “shameless spoiled brats”.

After their announcement, he took to Twitter to claim the Duchess had split Prince Harry away from the Royal Family.

"People say I'm too critical of Meghan Markle - but she ditched her family, ditched her Dad, ditched most of her old friends, split Harry from William & has now split him from the Royal Family. I rest my case," he wrote.
