From The X Factor to Celebrity Big Brother, Rylan Clark-Neal has never been one to shy away from the limelight. But, apparently despite it all, he kind of wishes he wasn’t famous at all.

Clark-Neal made the surprising admission in an interview in The Guardian this weekend. When asked what single thing would improve his life, he said “anonymity”.

“I am not being ungrateful, and I love meeting people, but being 6 ft 4, with big teeth and a beard – there’s no hiding.”

The Celebrity Big Brother presenter isn’t usually one to hide himself away. In fact, when Channel 5 announced that the reality TV show was to be no more. He posted a video of the diary room he’d built in his own home.

In The Guardian interview he also fessed up to his most embarrassing moment. Once he was so tired on telly that instead of answering a question about the political situation in Mali, he revealed the ending of Marley & Me.

“I was asked, ‘What do you make of the situation in Mali?’ and I said, ‘Well, I’ve not seen the film but I know the dog dies in the end.’ They were talking about the civil war, and the whole audience took an inward breath. I thought, ‘Should I not have revealed the end of the film?’”

Clark-Neal’s height definitely makes him stand out in a crowd – and it has always been a topic of conversation for the TV presenter, as people rarely believe just how tall he his (he’s 6ft 4). But he takes it all in his (rather long) stride.

When he stepped into Matt Baker’s shoes on The One Show recently, he posed for a photo with guest Danny DeVito, who is 4ft 10. The shot posted to his Instagram, jokingly suggesting that there might a Twins sequel on the way.
