I'm A Celebrity stars to replace Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning

Former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! contestants Emily Atack and John Barrowman are set to replace Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby as hosts on This Morning.

The twosome will be taking over from the beloved pair during the upcoming Easter holidays, beginning on Friday 12 April. Typically, regulars and real-life couple Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford step in to lead the daytime show while Schofield and Willoughby are taking their respective breaks, but it looks as if ITV are shaking things up and hoping for success.

Talking about the new gig, Atack said she is "absolutely over the moon to be joining This Morning with [her] best mate John Barrowman."

She continued: "It's a dream come true to be presenting one of my favourite shows. I look forward to being on the iconic sofa. We're going to have so much fun."

Atack came in second, having lost out to winner Harry Redknapp, during the most recent series of I'm A Celebrity. Before proving one of the general public's favourites on the Australia-based reality competition – where she had to carry out the dreaded 'eating' Bushtucker Trial – she was best known for playing Charlotte Hinchcliffe in comedy outing The Inbetweeners.

Barrowman has a number of impressive acting credits to his name, including stints on hugely popular shows Doctor Who, Desperate Housewives andArrow. His appearance in the former went down so well with fans that it led to him fronting spin-off show Torchwood, centred on his character Captain Jack Harkness.

It has been rumoured for some time that the new friends would be involved in an ITV show at some point. Addressing the whispers, Atack previously said: "There are ideas floating around. At the moment everything is meetings and exciting opportunities."
