Wes Nelson became the first celebrity to score a 10 in this series of Dancing on Ice– just in time to put him through to the semi-final, although many viewers were more interested in whether or not he kissed his partner during the routine.
The former Love Island contestant and his pro partner, last year's champion Vanessa Bauer, picked up 10s from both head judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean in the first routine to get top scores this season, a Pirates of the Caribbean themed number.
A few weeks back, Nelson broke up with his Love Island co-star Megan Barton Hanson, blaming his tough training schedule, although she was reported to be jealous of his relationship with Bauer.
But the shock eliminees from the quarter-final were Melody Thornton and Alexander Demetriou, who had been one of the series' strongest couples and even pulled off its first headbanger in an early round.
They lost out to Saara Aalto and Hamish Gaman in the skate off, meaning that next week's semi-finalists will be Aalto, Nelson, James Jordan and Brian McFadden.
The Dancing on Ice quarter-final also included the series' first group competition skate which continued the night's fairly loose time travel theme with a gladiator routine.

Wes Nelson gets first 'Dancing on Ice' 10 - but did he really kiss Vanessa Bauer during their skate?
Dancing on Ice has seen a lot of injuries among the stars taking part this year, with Love Island star Wes Nelson being the latest victim. On Sunday, the 20-year-old suffered a nasty fall while lifting Vanessa above his head during rehearsals, but lost his footing and tumbled to the ground, taking Vanessa with him. Wes was then assessed by paramedics, and lucky for fans, will still be going ahead with the performance on Sunday night. An ITV spokesman said: "He was assessed by show medics a result they will be changing their routine for this evening's performance. They will no longer be incorporating the Detroiter lift into the routine."Dancing on Ice star Wes Nelson suffered a nasty fallJames Jordan has also injured himself during Dancing on Ice training on a number of occasions. Dancing on Ice star James Jordan has had a busy time since leaving Strictly Come Dancing in 2013. The professional dancer has gone on to make a number of appearances in other popular TV shows, most recently in Dancing on Ice. The celebrity has been partnered with professional skater Alexandra Schauman. James is proving his skating abilities are just as good as his dance skills, and while there has been debate whether he has an unfair advantage as a result of his profession, his legion of fans are rooting for him to win the ITV show. When he isn’t working, the dancer enjoys nothing more than spending time with his wife and former Strictly star, Ola Jordan, and the pair recently welcomed HELLO! into their home for an exclusive interview.James Jordan is a contestant on the 2019 series of Dancing on Ice James Jordan on Dancing on IceJames is favourite to win Dancing on Ice this year, and has had the support of his former Strictly stars and wife Ola, who have cheered on from the audience during his performances. Just after it was announced that James would be going on the show, he opened up about the assumption that he would be good at skating because of his dancing background. "People are going to probably say I've got an unfair advantage but when I got on the ice, I actually shocked myself how bad I was," he revealed on BBC Radio 5 Live. While the former Strictly pro is a popular contestant, the star admitted that he was having trouble skating due to his arthritis, which was spurred on by a fall on the ice. Writing in his Best magazine column, he said: "I fell practising a jump the other day and landed on my hip. Given I have arthritis there, it wasn't ideal. It hurt - a lot." However James still took part and made it through to the next week.MORE: Ola and James Jordan open up about their two year struggle to start a familyJames with his wife Ola Jordan James Jordan on Celebrity Big BrotherJames has appeared twice in the Celebrity Big Brother house, first in 2014, where he came out in third place. The star then went back in 2017 for the all-star series. The professional dancer spoke out about his time on CBB recently after hearing that the show had come to an end. He told Digital Spy: "[I'm] gutted, actually. Because everybody knows it started as a social experiment, I just think the whole psychology side of it really interests me, watching how people react under the pressure. I always enjoyed watching in particular the celebrity one, people that you think you know, and then you watch them on TV and then you see them in a different situation and how they cope with it. I'm gutted, but I'm hoping another channel takes it over. I was fortunate enough to do it twice, so for me I really like the show." James Jordan's other TV appearancesThe 40-year-old has been on a number of programmes throughout his career, including Celebrity Coach Trip, which he appeared on alongside Ola, and Through the Keyhole. The couple – who have been married for more than 15 years – have been trying to conceive for two years but with no success. "I would love to be a mum with all my heart and I just thought it would happen naturally," said Ola, 36. "James is also desperate to have babies and I just wish it could have happened by now. That’s the one gift I would love to give him. I guess I just thought, like most women, that I could choose when the time was right for me; that I could have my career and then have a baby when it felt right. But for us it just hasn’t happened like that." The couple then revealed their plans to start IVF. "The irony is that for 17 years during our career we tried not to have children because dancing is not a career that easily fits in with family life," James said. "When we finally did try, it was a sting to realise we couldn’t conceive straight away. After consultations we’ve realised we are one of the lucky ones and that, with help, hopefully one day we can realise our baby dreams."Like this story? Comparing his new challenges to his Strictly past, he said: "From being involved in it, I would say that the danger factor on ice far, far outweighs the danger factor on Strictly… because yes we have to do lifts, but doing it on ice with a thin blade… it is really, really dangerous, especially for the female professionals on Dancing on Ice. I feel sorry for them because they're being lifted by people who aren't really that great at skating. Also for me, I've lifted before, but I have a fear of lifting someone on ice because I know really, 'Should I be doing it?' Probably not, because I'm not a good enough skater."Inside Ola and James Jordan's gorgeous homeJames lost his balance during a liftNo doubt the professional pair have picked themselves up since the set-back, though James has also spoken of how painful it can be to fall on the ice. He told us: "The thing is, when you get something wrong on the floor, it doesn't matter – you just do it again… if you get something wrong on the ice and you fall over, it hurts a lot. It's tough, but I'm loving every second of it."

Coronation Street actress Jane Danson has opened up about the emotional backstory behind her fainting on the ice during Dancing on Ice rehearsals at the beginning of the month. The 40-year-old actress appeared on Monday's Lorraine following her elimination on Sunday night, and told host Christine Lampard that she had passed out due to a "combination" of factors, including the grief of her dad's death anniversary. She said: "In all honesty I think it was a combination of quite a few things that particular day. I arrived at the studio slightly later than normal for various reasons. We didn't have much chance to warm up, I was severely dehydrated."Jane Danson bravely skated after fainting just before the showJane added: "And just to add insult to injury, it was also the anniversary of my dad's death that day, so I was feeling quite emotional." It caused a few head-scratching moments though, as various celebrities let out some rather odd screams during their skate.
Jordan was crowned the king of the gladiator skate, followed by Nelson, Thornton, McFadden, and Aalto put in last place by the judges.
The stakes were high this week, so the celebrities had put in so much effort in training that quite a few of them suffered falls and accidents before Sunday night.
Thornton took a nasty tumble in the dress rehearsal and Jordan managed to drop his partner Alexandra Schauman on her head, but Nelson's fall was so bad that he even had to change his routine to avoid making the same mistake on the live show.
Meanwhile, judge Jason Gardiner managed to weave in a few stealth put-downs to his critiques.
After McFadden's Elvis-themed skate, he said: "I thought you captured the last days of Elvis brilliantly in that routine."
Congratulations aren't only in order for the semi-finalists, though – judge Ashley Banjo became a dad this week, and here he is with his lovely family.
