Bohemian Rhapsody most streamed song from the 20th century

At six minutes long, they said it would never sell. But now, Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody is the most-streamed song of the 20th century - overtaking the likes of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit and Guns N' Roses' Sweet Child O'Mine to achieve the top spot.

With its unusual lyrics about Galileo, Scaramouche and the Fandango - the iconic 1975 hit has surpassed 1.6 billion streams globally.

Sales have been boosted by the new movie of the same name - starring Rami Malek as late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury.

He has since been nominated for a Golden Globe and is tipped for an Oscar nomination in the new year.

Five weeks after its release, the biography has already taken $600 million at the global box office.

Universal Music has been promoting the single in recent weeks, collating registered streams from on-demand services like Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube, where a new generation can experience thunder bolts and lightning.
