Actor admits he's struggling with sobriety

Actor Shia LaBeouf has apologised after he racially abused police officers during his recent arrest.

The Transformers star, 31, was caught on camera during his arrest in a hotel lobby in Savannah, Georgia in the early hours of Saturday morning.

He has since been charged with obstruction, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Writing on Twitter, he said: "I am deeply ashamed of my behaviour and make no excuses for it..."

He goes on to admit he has been suffering from addiction issues: "I have been struggling with addiction publicly for far too long and I am actively taking steps towards securing my sobriety and hope I can be forgiven for my mistakes."
