Katy Perry has said she is ready to put her long-running feud with Taylor Swift behind her.

The pair are said to have had a frosty relationship since rowing over backing dancers a few years ago.

Now Perry, 32, has said she is "ready to let it go".

According to reports, Perry opened up about wanting to call a truce on her YouTube live stream session this weekend.

She said: "I forgive her and I'm sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her.

"I think it's actually like, I think it's time.

"There are bigger fish to fry, and there are real problems in the world. You know what I'm saying?"

The Roar singer said she hoped she and Swift could "come together in a place of love and forgiveness and understanding and compassion".

She said: "I love her, and I want the best for her.

"And I think she's a fantastic songwriter, and I think that if we, both her and I, can be representatives of strong women that come together despite their differences, I think the whole world is going to go like, 'Yeah, well we can do this'."

Perry opened up during Witness World Wide, a weekend-long live stream in which fans can watch her going about everyday things such as cooking and sleeping, as well as conducting Q&A sessions.

The event is being held to promote the singer's new album, Witness.
