Sir Patrick Stewart was named a Legend as the Empire Awards in London on Sunday night.
The former Star Trek actor was presented with the accolade by close pal Sir Ian McKellen for his contribution to film at a star-studded ceremony at the Roundhouse in Camden.
Handing the Empire Legend award to Sir Patrick, Sir Ian joked: "A legend award? Come on Patrick, it doesn't mean to say your career is over."
