Robin Thicke has paid tribute to his father, Growing Pains star Alan Thicke, following his death aged 69.
The actor died from a heart attack on Tuesday in Los Angeles, Robin's publicist Carleen Donovan said.
The Blurred Lines singer told the Los Angeles Times his father was "the greatest man I ever met" and "always a gentleman".
He confirmed that Thicke suffered a heart attack while playing hockey with his son Carter, and that one of the last things he said was a compliment to his son on a nice shot, the Los Angeles Times said.
"The good thing was that he was beloved and he had closure," the star said.
"I saw him a few days ago and told him how much I loved and respected him."
Alan Thicke starred as Dr Jason Seaver in the ABC series Growing Pains, which aired from 1985 until 1992.
The Canadian-born actor had a prolific career, including cameos in recent years on the comedy How I Met Your Mother.
Celebrity website TMZ first reported the death.
