Matt Terry clinched X Factor victory with just 8% more votes than runner-up Saara Aalto.
ITV has revealed the voting stats for the series.
And the waiter scored 48.5% on the final vote, while Finnish singer Saara was just a little behind with 40.4%.
The X Factor winner was ahead from the beginning - in the opening weeks of the live shows.
But the 23-year-old waiter from Bromley started to slip in the middle, and on week eight Saara was on top with 23.7%, followed by Emily Middlemas (22.6%) and Matt (21.2%).
Meanwhile, Honey G, who now has a record deal with Simon Cowell's label Syco, peaked with 12.2% of votes on week eight.
