First Brangelina, now Bake Off - fans react to Paul Hollywood's decision to go it alone after Mary Berry quits

Following the shock news that Mary Berry has stepped down from her role in The Great British Bake Off tent, her co-judge Paul Hollywood revealed he is staying on the series when it moves from the BBC to Channel 4.

The baker, 50, said in a statement that he is "delighted" to be continuing his role on the popular series.

He is the only original star of the show to be going, as presenters Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc have also jumped ship.

Many fans on Twitter couldn't help but compare it to this week's other massive break-up: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

There were plenty of people pointing out that Channel 4 had reportedly spent a lot of money on just a tent and Paul.

Twitter was awash with confused Bake Off fans, many of whom were really not impressed that he decided to make the move.

This poignant drawing kind of says it all.
