Bow Wow quits rap ... only to announce his new album

Bow Wow took to Twitter to announce his retirement from rap at the ripe old age of 29. He did so in a suitably humble way:

The news hardly came as a surprise for those who follow the former child star's career. His last album was released in 2009, and failed to live up to the success he enjoyed in the early Noughties.

It's safe to say that there weren't huge outpourings of grief over the news on social media.

However, the rap community didn't have long to react to the news because Bow Wow then took to Instagram to announce his latest (and allegedly last) album, called NYLTH. No word yet what this might actually stand for, so start speculating.

His final album will be executive produced by Snoop Dogg, Bow Wow explaining that "since he brought me in the game, its only right i involve him and end it with him".

There are also plans for a film to be released with the album, so he's certainly planning to go out with a bang.

No release date has been set yet, but seeing as Snoop is currently on tour with Wiz Khalifa a quick turnaround probably isn't likely.

Will this really be the last we hear from Bow Wow? Only time (and his social media accounts) will tell.
