Brokeback Mountain star Jake Gyllenhaal is to return to the Broadway stage.
The 35-year-old actor will take a lead role in Lanford Wilson's Burn This.
The play is set in New York in the 1980s and deals with themes of gay identity and relationships in the wake of a tragedy.
American actor Jake is best known for blockbuster movies Donnie Darko in 2001 and Brokeback Mountain in 2006. He made his Broadway debut in Constellations in 2015.
Michael Mayer will direct the play's Broadway revival, which also marks the official re-opening of New York's Hudson Theatre.
The director said: "I am honoured to bring Lanford Wilson's gorgeous and timeless play back to Broadway in a new production starring Jake Gyllenhaal, whose stage work has been exhilarating and who is a dream choice for this role.
"What a joy to reopen the historic Hudson Theatre. In the midst of an exquisite restoration, the intimate playhouse is the perfect home for this modern American classic."
Burn This premiered 30 years ago and will return to the stage from February 2017, with opening night set for March 6 2017.
The 1987 production of Burn This starred Joan Allen and John Malkovich, transferring to Broadway after a successful run.
An off-Broadway revival in 2002 featured actors including Edward Norton and Ty Burrell.
