Lily Allen has said the authorities "failed" her mentally ill stalker and more innocent people could get hurt as health services are cut.
Obsessed Alex Gray, who left Allen "terrified" after breaking into her bedroom, was sectioned earlier this month.
The singer was speaking two days after the death of Labour MP Jo Cox, who was shot and stabbed in the street outside her constituency surgery in Birstall, near Leeds, on Thursday.
After the death on Thursday, Lily tweeted:
Thomas Mair, who has been charged with the murder of the MP, gave his name as "Death to traitors, freedom for Britain" during his first court appearance, at Westminster Magistrates' Court.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot suggested that a psychiatric report should be prepared, saying: "Bearing in mind the name he has just given, he ought to be seen by a psychiatrist."
