Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott 'collaborate on new Ghostbusters theme song'

Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliot have collaborated on a new Ghostbusters theme song, one of the band members has revealed.

Pete Wentz, the group's bassist, tweeted that they had produced a new version of the Ray Parker Junior classic, with a verse from the female rapper.

The original song peaked at number two in the UK singles charts in 1984 and was nominated for an Oscar, losing out to Stevie Wonder's I Just Called To Say I Love You.

The soundtrack to the new Ghostbusters movie will feature Australian band 5SOS and their new single Girls Talk Boys.

Other artists included on the record are G-Eazy ft. Jeremih, Pentatonix, Walk The Moon and Wolf Alice.

The Ghostbusters are an all female line-up in the new movie, with Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wigg, Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones taking on the lead roles.

The film is released in the UK on July 11.
