Grant Mitchell's return to Albert Square to see his dying mother will lead to complications - as he turns to an old flame for support.
Ross Kemp is back in Walford as EastEnders hardman Grant after he was summoned back from his villa in Portugal to say goodbye to his mother, Peggy Mitchell (Dame Barbara Windsor), who has terminal cancer.
But after learning that nothing more can be done to help Peggy, he turns to his old flame Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).
Grant and Sharon previously married in 1991, but Sharon soon wondered if she had married the wrong Mitchell brother - and began an affair with Phil (Steve McFadden).
The affair was revealed in 1994 after Grant discovered a tape containing a conversation between Michelle Fowler (Susan Tully) and Sharon. The recording was played at the engagement party for Phil and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).
Grant and Sharon's marriage may have ended explosively, but will the two be able to resist temptation when old feelings begin to resurface?
These scenes will air on Tuesday, May 17 from 7.25pm, in what will be Peggy's final episode.
