Sharon Osbourne has finally taken to social media to thank fans for their support after her split from husband Ozzy.

The Talk co-host opened up on the show about how she had been coping after she confirmed her divorce from her husband of 33 years, and said she thought looking at tweets would be "salt in the wound".

She said on Tuesday: "I've been avoiding looking at any pictures, reading anything.

"I know what's going on. I don't need to read about it and see about it because it's like putting salt on a wound. I don't need to."

But after cajoling from the fellow ladies on The Talk, Sharon took the plunge and was "uplifted" by the response.

She said: "I was just overwhelmed by the reaction and so much love and it's just amazing."

Now Sharon, who was also Ozzy's manager and shares three children with him, said she was thinking carefully about her future after breaking up with him over an alleged affair.

She continued: "I have no idea what I am going to be doing for the rest of my life. I don't know where I am going, who I'm going with and I just need time to think and really think about myself and what I really want for the rest of my life because this is really like getting to the last chapter of the book and I really want to think about it very carefully where I want to go.

"When I know what I'm going to do for the rest of my life, who I'm going to be spending my life with and what I want to do with it -- you will be the first to know.

"I have to follow my heart and I don't even know what my heart is telling me right now."
