Prince looks set to claim a double victory in the charts a week after his shock death.
The superstar died aged 57 at his Paisley Park home near Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Thursday after he was found collapsed in a lift.
Within 24 hours of his death, his music had jumped into the Top 10 on the Official Albums Chart - despite much of it not being available on streaming services.
The latest early sales figures provided by the Official Charts Company indicate the pop star is on track to take the number one spot in both the singles and album charts.
Data from day one indicates the singer's signature 1984 anthem Purple Rain is a strong early contender for the top spot on the Official Singles Chart.
An early chart estimation shows four of the top five spots in the singles chart look set to be dominated by Prince.
His classic song When Doves Cry is on track for second place behind Purple Rain, with Kiss at number four and 1999 in fifth position. The only other artist holding their own against Prince is Drake's One Dance ft. Wizkid & Kyla in position number three.
With a substantial portion of his music not available on streaming services, the addition of any streaming data could likely affect the above estimates, the Official Charts Company says.
If Purple Rain holds its own to grab the top chart position it would be the second UK number one single for Prince and a new record for the song which previously only reached the eighth position when it was released in 1984.
Early estimates for the album charts show that Prince's classic offerings are dominating half of the Top 10, based on a tally of 24 hours' worth of data.
Currently on course for number one is The Very Best Of, Ultimate is in second position and the official soundtrack to the movie Purple Rain in third position.
Fifth position looks set to be grabbed by The Hits/The B-Sides, with Sign O' The Times in sixth position. It would be Prince's sixth album number one in the UK if The Very Best Of sees the week out to grab the title.
