Glastonbury festival
It's once again time for the unique Glastonbury festival. For five enthralling days Pilton farm in Somerset plays host to a tented city . There is music from nearly every genre imaginable on over 50 stages. There is also a wide range of performing arts on offer from cabaret, theatre, circus, children's entertainment and poetry. The dates for the 2010 are from Wednesday 23rd to Sunday 27th June.

There will be something like 2,000 performances at 50 or so venues. Music on the main stages runs from around 11am each morning until 00:30 on the Friday and Saturday and midnight on the Sunday (longer stage running times than just about every other festival), with entertainment on some of the smaller stages running later (until 6am in Shangri-La).
There are a couple of very important World Cup games during the 2010 Festival. So, if you can't live without your fix of footie, the game on the Wednesday night will be shown on the Pyramid Stage screens.

There are plenty of places to camp at the festival and you will be guided by the stewards on arrival. If you haven't remembered everything you need for your comfort then don't stress, there is a stall at the festival for almost everything and you will be able to purchase any accessories you need.
You may return to your tent late at night a little the worse for wear so don't forget where you pitched up. There'll be thousands of identical looking tents so try and make yours look slightly different with a flag or banner.
This year more camping space has been created around the Bushy Ground area. There is also a family camping site on the Wicket ground.
