The X Factor will be returning to our screens on Saturday 22nd August on ITV. Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole will once again sit at their judging panel and either dispel contestants' illusions or make their dreams reality, but this time the judges will have some help with their decision-making.
The series has a new format in which not only the usual four judges decide the hopeful contestants' fate, but they will also be judged by the live studio audience. A record 200,000 people applied to take part in the auditions for series 6, but it's a long journey from the initial auditions to standing before the judges. Just imagine how nerve wracking it would be to have to face an entire studio full of people as well as nasty Simon Cowell!
For those of you who love the X Factor and can't get enough of it, you'll be pleased to hear there are 10 extra show this season. As well as the usual weekly show there will also be a live Sunday results show. And of course you can also watch the Xtra Factor with Holly Willoughby.
