Having a puppy can be a lot of fun but it's also a ton of work. After all, puppies are just babies until well over the age of one, so you'll be dealing with all kinds of messes and chaos. That's just how it is!

Many puppy owners even report cases of the 'puppy blues,' but they also say that a day eventually comes when they miss the silly puppy stage. That's just one reason why it's so important to chronicle your first months together with your pup, no matter how difficult some moments can get. Even if you take one picture per week, it can be so special to look back and see how they've grown.

Just ask Rebecca! She's the proud owner of Dusty Bun the English Bulldog puppy, and on May 6, she celebrated the pup's 7-month birthday with the most adorable timelapse video. All of those videos she's been taking have paid off wonderfully!

Aww! Dusty Bun has got to be one of the cutest little Bulldog pups I've ever seen. He always looks so fresh and clean, which means his mom is doing a great job keeping those wrinkles nice and dry. This is a specific but important part of keeping English Bulldogs healthy, and his owner definitely got the memo.

The other funny thing I noticed is that he seems to grow up all at once! To my eyes, at least, he doesn't change much from one clip to the next until about 40 seconds into the video. Maybe those rolls are deceiving, but he looked like a young puppy until he was at least six months old!

"It was funny," @faith._.roy commented, "My Bulldog had an awkward phase for about six months when he was about to turn one. I think he was just filling into his rolls." LOL! That's such a funny mental image to have, but it's also incredibly accurate. That awkward teenage phase looks different for every dog, and those Bulldog wrinkles only add to the adorable awkwardness!

Is an English Bulldog Right for You?

Dusty Bun's adorable face and hilarious mannerisms could win over just about anyone, but an English Bulldog may not be the right dog breed for your home. They require more care than other breeds, including frequent cleaning of the skin, and can experience a number of breed-related health issues.

Many of a Bulldog's breathing problems are due to their brachycephaly, or 'squishy faces.' Their shortened airways make it harder to breathe, particularly during exercise and in warm weather, but a knowledgeable dog owner can give an English Bulldog just like Dusty Bun a long, healthy, and happy life.
