Terrifying moment 'out of control' super-yacht collides with harbour in tourist paradise

This is the moment a 282-foot-long super yacht collided with a bridge on a Caribbean island.

Mega yacht Ecstasea - which belongs to a Pakistani billionaire - smashed into a control booth in Simpson Bay Lagoon, on the Caribbean island of Sint Maarten on Monday.

Video footage shows terrified people running off the deck of a harbour-side bar - as the ship collides with the small white control booth, leaving a large scrape on its exterior.

However, two women appear completely unphased by the crash - and carry on with their drinks like nothing happened.

It is thought adverse wind and current conditions caused the huge boat to veer to the right.

Thankfully, no one was harmed during the crash, with the bridge operating fully functional, as control gears were not damaged.

Simpson Bay Lagoon Corporation project manager Bertrand Peters told Boat International:'It was tricky – the vessel had some difficulties.

“The impact took out the booth but the controls and gear were all intact so the bridge remains fully operational and opening times will not be affected.”

People took to Twitter to share their amusement over the incident - and pointed out two women who casually carried on with their drinks.

“Obsessed with the two women who just sit there with their wine and don’t even move”

“They're not even taking pictures or filming. They're just chilling.”

Another posted: “Whoever operating The Ecstasea definitely outta there.”

'Ecstasea' is one of the most powerful super-yachts in the world.

The 86-metre vessel boasts a 4 x 3,154hp diesel engines and 1 x 31,269hp gas turbine waterjet.
