EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt living in a motorhome

EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt has revealed he is living in a motorhome in a field and enjoying getting in touch with nature.

The 52-year-old actor - who has played Ian Beale in the BBC soap for 36 years - is currently on a break from the show and has grown a beard while his is exploring his wild side.

Woodyatt told Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 breakfast show: "I am loving my break, I’m having a ball.

“Basically I’m in a motorhome. I’ve taken advantage of it and I’m currently in a field in Devon.”

On his Instagram he has revealed he has grown a full beard and has been enjoying fishing and cycling in the countryside, as well as sharing his field with some pheasants.

The soap star explained he bought the mobile home because he is due to tour the country in a stage adaptation of Peter James hit crime novel Looking Good Dead, but the play keeps getting delayed due to Covid restrictions.

Woodyatt said: “I’ve got a motorhome ready for the tour so I won’t have to worry about staying in hotels or anything like that.

"I’m getting ready for the tour which was supposed to have started in January, then it was supposed to start in April and then it was supposed to start in June - it keeps getting knocked back."

He added: “It’s a cracking tour. My only complaint is seeing as I’m the driver of said motorhome… at one point we’ve got to go from Edinburgh to Brighton.”

The actor's representative confirmed last year that he had split from his wife in August 2019.

Woodyatt married dancer Beverley Sharp in 1998 and they have two children together.
