Double decker bus crashes into railway bridge

A passenger has been injured after the roof of a double decker bus was ripped off as it crashed into a railway bridge between Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill in Sussex on Tuesday morning.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene after the driver 'misjudged' the bridge and crashed at around 6.40am.

Pictures show the roof entirely ripped off after the collision.

A female passenger who was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital with a head injury.

Martin Harris, Managing Director of Brighton & Hove Bus Company, told MailOnline: "We are currently investigating the incident which occurred just before 6.45 this morning on Rocky Lane, Haywards Heath.

"There were five passengers on board the bus at the time and one has sustained a minor injury."
