Dog's Heartbroken Face After Being Returned to FL Shelter Has People in Tears
When a dog cries, we're pretty much helpless. We need to do something to help. That's why we can't stand by and allow one dog at Humane Society Broward County to be abandoned. The dog was nearly in tears herself after being dropped off at the shelter recently. Which is why the organization is putting out a S.O.S. to try and get the pup adopted.
We can't believe that someone didn't want Kelly. The dog has a sweet, open face and big, round eyes. She would make anyone so happy! But sadly, her story is like so many other needy dogs and she was returned.
In a video re-shared by PAWS, it shows the dog looking so lost in her kennel. She once was in a loving home and now she's all alone. It's unclear why Kelly was returned to the shelter, but now the shelter is hoping she'll find someone new and never return to the facility again.

"All dogs need a forever home!" the video's caption reads. "Make sure it's the right fit when adopting," they advised.
Commenters were distraught at the thought of the dog being left alone. "Awwww….Somebody please hug this baby?!??" demanded one person. "It's okay baby it's not you it's them, you'll find your forever home," someone else chimed in. "Oh sweet girl. It’s not your fault. The right one will come!" another commenter agreed. While someone else made a very good point. "People need patience. I adopted the worst dog ever 11 years ago. Today I laid to rest the best, most loyal, loving dog I ever had. They were one and the same. She was 14," they commented.
Alternatives to Surrendering Your Pet
Adoption is a big deal that no one should take lightly. But if for some reason you are unable to care for your animal, there are ways you can ensure their care without going to the shelter route.
First, it's important to acknowledge why you are considering rehoming your dog. Are there behavioral issues? Has it become a financial strain? There are resources for many of the common issues surrounding pet care. Resources like the Animal Humane Society can help you as you try and find a path forward.
If rehoming the animal is unavoidable, there are options. Give yourself some time to do this. You want your pet to go to a good home, so make sure you spread the word that you are looking for a new home and be thoughtful about who you trust. It's better to give the animal to someone you know over a stranger. If you have to consider someone that's unknown to you, meet them in a public space and ask them questions that a shelter or rescue would ask. You want to gauge if they're ready for an animal and can take adequate care for them.
If all else fails, places like Humane Broward will take your dog. Never abandon your animal. No matter how hard things might seem, do the right thing and get them to a brand new home.
