Bringing home a new puppy is a lot of work, and most people don't realize (or if you're like me, you might have forgotten) what you are getting yourself into. We think the puppy will be ready to be on our schedule and listen to what we say and tell them to do. But they are a handful with a mind of their own, and they have no hesitations in showing you the many different sides of their personalities.

TikToker Maru Bear has a Siberian Husky puppy named Freya, and boy is she a handful! Her mom shared a video at the beginning of March showcasing that Freya is a whole lot more than just a Husky - she's also a mermaid, thief, bed hog, and more!

Isn't this all adorable? By far my favorite side of Freya is that she's a mermaid - it was just too cute! Of the hundreds of comments people left on Maru Bear's video, almost all of them swooned over how cute Freya is, and like me, many people got a kick out of Freya being a mermaid. It's clear from other videos that Freya is definitely a big fan of playing in water!

Fun Facts About Huskies

It's very obvious that Siberian Huskies are beautiful dogs, but do they make good pets? It depends on who you ask and what kind of dog your family is looking for.

Huskies are considered to be big dogs with the females growing to an average weight of 45 to 55 pounds, and males usually between 50 to 65 pounds. They continue to grow and fill out until around their second birthday. They are social dogs that love to be around people...they are also very vocal and love to 'talk' and howl.

Huskies were bred to be working dogs and have very thick coats and fur that will grow longer on their feet - this is to protect the pads from ice and snow in harsh winter conditions. The mask on their faces and stunning blue eyes were developed as a shield against harsh sunlight bouncing up into their faces since most of their time was spent outdoors.

Training is absolutely crucial with Huskies. They are very stubborn and like to be the boss. If you do not establish dominance with them quickly, they will steamroll right over you. Since they are working dogs, exercise - and a lot of it - is necessary for them every day. If you're a low-key family that isn't very active, a Husky is not the dog for you. When they do not get enough exercise, they become master destroyers and will destroy anything and everything that they can.

Huskies shed a lot, so much so that one Pet Helpful author said, "it will leave you wondering how it is possible that the dog is not bald." They require a quick brushing every day or at least a few times a week to keep the shedding under control. The author also mentioned, "if you have allergies or are anti-dog hair in general, then this is not the dog breed for you."

There are pros and cons to owning every dog breed. Make sure to do your research so that you can decide if a Husky is right for your family.
