Disabled Dogs’ Fun Trip to the Beach Is Melting People’s Hearts

With warmer temperatures finally here, many of us enjoy spending more time outside. Luckily for Debbie Pearl and her pups, it's almost always sunny in Huntington Beach, California and they all love spending time at the beach. Debbie is an angel in every sense of the word, and has dedicated her life to rescuing dogs, especially senior dogs and dogs with physical and mental challenges. She shared a video at the beginning of April showing her and her dogs enjoying some time at the beach, and it will make you smile.

While it must be quite a chore to get all of these dogs ready for the beach, you can tell that they absolutely love being there! Watch and see the joy on their faces as they excitedly wait for Debbie to let them off leash so they can head for the sand.

This was so fun to watch! Debbie's video shows that even disabled dogs can have fun and enjoy life, a beautiful reminder to us all that there's something special to be found every day that we have, and to treasure those moments. People left more than 5,000 comments and they were so heartwarming. @mugglelew got over 11 thousand likes for their comment, "It absolutely fills my heart to see them run!" and @crisp_vibes added, "The fact they just COULD NOT wait!" I completely agree with @ZO who said, "Special people who care like this - this planet needs more of you."

The Wonderful World of Rescue

Debbie is truly an amazing person! Taking on a rescued pet - especially one who is senior or with disabilities - requires exceptional patience and dedication...not to mention time and money. There are so many animals out there that are rescued from abuse, neglect, abandonment, or because of their disabilities. I'm so glad there are rescuers out their like Debbie who are willing to take these animals in and provide them with a loving home.

Not all of us are able to have pets, and many people do not have the time and resources required to care for animals with special needs. But you can still help pets in need! Even if you aren't in a place to adopt or provide a foster home for one you can donate to local shelters and rescues. This can be in the form of money, food, or other supplies that are always neeed. You can also donate your time and help care for animals, find them homes, or even transport them to vet appointments and adoption events.

Another easy way to help and show your support is to follow your favorite shelters and rescues on social media. Give their posts a like, leave a comment, or share them to provide them with a greater reach and to get more eyes on their posts. Share their fundraising efforts and cheer them on. All of this is very helpful and doesn't cost a penny!
