Denver Dog Hitches a Ride on City Bus Like She's Got Places to Be
On March 22, a dog in Denver, Colorado decided to have an adventure and hopped on a city bus for a ride across town. Riding on the bus like the boss she is, she was probably hoping to do a little sight-seeing or enjoy a day of fun.
After some time, when other killjoy passengers noticed she wasn't with a human they called Adams County Animal Control, which brought her to the shelter as a stray.
"We can definitely say she is a smart dog because she made her way on there and knew she needed to get somewhere safe in order to be reunited with her family," said Tabatha Gormley, community engagement liaison at Riverdale Animal Shelter, Denver 7 reported.

Shelter staff found the dog's family on Monday and learned her name is Lily.
"Absolutely a happy ending to know that Lily is with a family in the home that she's accustomed to. She came here and she knows a ton of demand. She's super friendly. She's super well-fed and well-taken care of. So we're so happy to see the family's mind put at ease and have them be reunited," said Gormley.
We are so happy the family was reunited with their bus-riding baby and she is safe and sound at home!
Car Safety Tips For Dogs
Now, if you're not taking your dog on a bus or your dog isn't hitching a ride on a bus without you and you are getting to your destination by car, here are some car safety tips that will keep your pup safe and happy while on the road.
First of all, never leave your dog unattended in your car, no matter how long you'll be away from them. Temperatures in cars can get very hot or very cold quickly, and it's just not worth risking your fur baby's life.
Make sure you secure your dog in a crate or carrier specifically designed for car travel. Or use a special seat restraint designed for dogs. This provides a safe and secure space for your dog and prevents them from roaming around the car, which can be dangerous for both the dog and the driver.
Never, ever let your dog ride in the front seat or on your lap, as they can be seriously injured by airbag deployment in the event of a crash.
If you're driving a long distance, make sure you pack all of their essentials like food, toys and a water bowl and take frequent breaks to let your pup do their business and have playtime and exercise.
