I think we can all agree that little Waldo is the epitome of cute and there's nothing sweeter than a dog who loves his babies. If you have a dog, you've probably witnessed your own dog's adoration of a certain stuffed toy or stuffed toys, and there are plenty of reasons why dogs love stuffed animals so much. That is, when they aren't destroying them and leaving stuffing all over your living room!

Why Dogs Love Stuffed Animals

A lot of dogs love stuffed animals, and whether they are carrying them around in their mouths, sleeping with them, or chewing them up until you find white tufts of stuffing all over your floor, there are a few reasons why.

Stuffed toys can provide a sense of security for dogs, and cuddling with them may remind them of snugging with their mama or their siblings.

Stuffed animals get scented by your dog, and dogs love the way that they smell. Just like a worn stuffed animal your kid may have carried around, the way your pup's 'baby' smells gives them comfort too.

Not only does your dog have a strong emotional attachment to you, but if they have a favorite stuffed toy and you're away they may use that as a you substitute and enjoy cuddling it.

A lot of dogs also chew and destroy their stuffed animals, and that can not only provide entertainment, especially with dogs with a high prey drive, but chewing also helps dogs soothe their gums especially in younger dogs that are teething.

A lot of dogs enjoy stuffed toys, and letting them have their collection can provide your dog with both emotional and mental stimulation, which can make your pup happier. Plus, they look super cute carrying them around.
