Dachshund’s Excitement Over Playing with New Puppy Sister Is a Little ‘Ruff'

Bringing home a new puppy can be very exciting for the family, but for other pets, the new addition might not be wanted. Winston Da Ween is a Dachshund who has been the family favorite for years. Recently mom introduced him to his new baby sister Willa, and I think it's fair to say that Winston wasn't exactly a fan.

Winston's mom shared a video at the beginning of April of Winston and the new puppy together. Of course, all Willa wants to do is pay, but Winston just wants to be left alone! Make sure your sound is on because the accompanying music makes it so much funnier!

This was so dang cute to watch! Winston is beyond annoyed with Willa! The best part was when Winston yeeted the baby off the couch - or as his mom said in the caption, "Winston SENT her off the couch"! The vide went viral because it's so funny, and people left thousands of comments. @Vikingscrybaby wasn't wrong when they said, "The Dachshund side eye is MURDEROUS lol!!" I'm with @The BOSS who laughed, "It’s the final shove, Willa flying back, ears out of control for me!" and @Maiara was spot on when she said, "The dramatic music makes it 1000 times funnier LOL!"

Do Dachshunds Make Good Pets?

Well Winston and Willa are absolutely adorable! After watching the video, I wondered if wiener dogs make good pets, so I did a little research to learn more about them.

Of course with every dog breed comes pros and cons. Dachshunds are known to be very loyal and affectionate with their humans. Although they are pretty active, they are a breed that is fine with living in homes with without a whole lot of space, like apartments and condos and with families looking for an indoor pet. They are playful and fun and get along well with other pets and with children. While they do like to be active, they love snuggling up and being couch potatoes just as much.

There are some things to take into consideration before rushing out and bringing a Dachshund home. These dogs are known for being quite stubborn, which can make training and housebreaking a challenge. One of their favorite things to do is bark, so if you're looking for a quiet pet, this isn't the one for you. It's also worth mentioning that they do not like cats so if you have one, getting the two to get along may present another challenge. Due to their body shape, they do have some health issues which can make them expensive if you have to pay for vet care.

Listing out the pros and cons helps ensure you make the right choice for your family and your new pet as well. The cons do not mean that they're a "bad" choice or wrong for your family. Every breed has its pros and cons so make sure to do your own research before making a decision that will change your family's life, as well as your new pet's life.
