Every animal at a shelter deserves a good home, but for senior pets it can seem like an uphill battle to get someone to notice them. So many seniors get overlooked! That's probably why the internet is melting over one woman who adopted a 17-year-old cat and took to the internet to find the kitty the perfect name.

We just know that Grace is going to love and care for her senior kitty, judging by the video she shared online.

To some people the cat's stats would be a turn off.

"She's 17 years old. Been at the shelter since 2019, was adopted three months ago, but they brought her back," Grace explained in the video's onscreen caption.

But to someone like Grace, she knows that there is no age that's told old to be loved. She picked that kitty up from the shelter and now she's looking to seal the deal by giving her senior cat a new name.

"Name ideas?? So excited to bring her into the family," she wrote in the caption.

There are so many names to choose from. And people in the comments section had some ideas for the new cat mom. "Mildred. A cute old lady name for a precious old lady kitty cat," one woman suggested. "Dorothy because there's no place like home and she's home with you," someone else chimed in. "We have an old lady we adopted from Petco that had been there for months. She came with the name Edith and we kept it. We call her 'sweetie Edie,'" someone else shared.

Cat Name Ideas

Naming your new pet is never easy, is it? For Grace's cat, many people suggested older, more classic names. But there are lots of options for cat names out there. Like April, May, or June! These names are timeless and have a classic feel without sound too "grandma."

Pippa, Polly, and Rosie are girly names that have a real youthful vibe — but that doesn't mean that a cat of any age couldn't use it. Celine, Channel, or Serena are sophisticated names, perfectly fitting an older cat who has seen a thing or two.

Ultimately, Grace chose to go in a different direction with her cat's name — and she shared her final pick in an update video.

"A little update: My fiancé and I have been calling her Gramma Kitty and it just seems fitting," she wrote. Gramma Kitty! It really does if you think about it. Luckily for this gramma, we know she's finally found her fur-ever home.
