The coronation concert will be one of the centrepiece moments of the weekend of celebrations in which King Charles will be crowned.

It's planned to feature A-listers from around the world, but more – unconfirmed –reports have indicated some of the biggest stars of the British music scene will be unavailable to take the stage.

The Sun has claimed that Elton John — a close friend of the Diana and more recently Prince Harry — Harry Styles and the Spice Girls have all been unable to fit the coronation concert into their busy schedules.

Take That — who rose to fame as a boy band in the 90s — have agreed to perform, the outlet also reports, although Robbie Williams, who left the band in 1995, won't be joining them onstage.

Last week, it emerged two British powerhouses are also not set to feature.

According to the Mail on Sunday, Adele and Ed Sheeran have turned requests to perform at the concert in May, despite the King being "very keen" to have the two artists involved.

Sheeran is on tour and scheduled to appear in Texas the night before.

The palace has previously said the concert will include performances from "global music icons and contemporary stars", although the line-up has yet to be announced.

Here's everything we know so far about the concert.

When is the coronation concert?

The concert will take place on 7 May at Windsor Castle, a day after the coronation service at Windsor Abbey.

Street parties are planned earlier in the day, which will be organised by the Big Lunch team from the Eden Project, where the idea first originated and is supported by the National Lottery.

The coronation big lunches will aim to bring together communities and reduce loneliness whilst supporting charities.

When will the coronation concert be aired on TV?

The concert is being produced by BBC Studios, and will be aired live on BBC One and available to stream on iPlayer — either live or on-demand.

It will also be played on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.

What to expect from the coronation concert?

While the full line-up hasn't been announced yet, we know that the concert will feature a "world-class orchestra" who will play versions of famous songs and be fronted up by "some of the world's biggest entertainers".

There will also be spoken word performed by well-known actors, and dance performances.

The coronation concert will also include a performance from the coronation choir — which has been established specially for the occasion and will be made up of keen amateur choralists from across the UK. This will include refugee choirs, LGBTQ+ singers and deaf signing choirs.

A documentary about the formation of the coronation choir will also be released this year, and on the night of the coronation concert the choir will be joined virtually by singing groups from around the Commonwealth.

The focal point of the evening will be "Lighting up the Nation" — a light show included drones, projections and lasers.
