If there's one thing all dogs love, it's getting treats, especially ones that they don't get on a regular basis. Hazel is a mini Chihuahua-Dachshund mix (loving referred to as a "Chiweenie") who loves to snack on human food. Her mom shared a video on Monday, April 1st of Hazel trying four different human foods to get her reaction, and it was absolutely adorable!

Her mom wanted Hazel to try four different things: apple, Bok choy, a cabbage leaf, and a stick of celery. If you are a fan of ASMR, make sure your sound is on so that you can hear Hazel's adorable little crunches as she enjoys each of the treats!

I thought it was cute that in the caption Hazel's mom asked which food won and then said, "Hazel's rating: non-conclusive, need more data" meaning Hazel wanted more of the foods! If I had to pick one, it seemed that Hazel liked the Bok choy best. People loved Hazel's video and it immediately went viral with nearly 11 million views, 1.6 million likes, and nearly 14 thousand comments! One commenter got almost 90 thousand likes when they shared, "I hate hearing people chew, but dogs? Music to my ears!" @Isra also got nearly 90 thousand likes, "I never seen a Chihuahua this calm!"

Healthy Human Foods for Dogs

Some people refuse to give their dogs any kind of people foods, but there are certain foods that can be quite good for dogs. You can make your own dog food and dog treats, something that's fun to do if you enjoy cooking and spending time in the kitchen. Reasons many people take this route is so they know exactly what their pup is eating, because of dietary restrictions or food allergies, or because they don't trust ingredients used in dry dog foods.

If cooking isn't your thing, consider giving your pup a variety of fruits and veggies. Carrots are great because the rough and fibrous nature of carrots basically scrubs your dog's teeth, making it a great alternative to dental chews. Other foods to consider include cucumber, celery, apples and watermelon (all deseeded). Feed your pup all of these in moderation; some of them are high in sugar and can cause your dog to gain weight.

While there are several fruits and veggies your dog can enjoy, there are also some they you should never feed them, like onions, tomato stems and leaves, and grapes and raisins to name a few. If you're not sure if your pet can have a food item, talk to your vet before giving it to them, and always err on the side of caution. It could save your dog's life!
