Chewy Donates Over 1000 Lbs of Dog Food to Rescue Mission in Mexico
If you're one of the people who have to turn off that heartbreaking dog rescue commercial with the sad song playing in the background, you're in the majority. No one in my family can stand to watch more than two seconds of the ad, but that doesn't mean we don't want to help animals in need. On the contrary--those who are most affected by the thought of starving stray animals are those who truly want to do something about it.
The good news is that there's a lot someone can do to help! If you can, fostering shelter animals will make room in rescues for even more animals to be saved. But if you can't foster or adopt, you can donate money, supplies, or even your time. For a huge company like Chewy, though, the philanthropy possibilities are practically endless.
For example, dog rescuer Henry from @keepingfinn recently traveled to Mexico to assist animal rescues in need, so he reached out to Chewy to ask for donations. This company is known for its generosity, but their response was truly unbelievable!
OMG! This act of kindness is the definition of 'above and beyond.' Henry was so smart to reach out to pet supply companies like Chewy for donations, but not even he could guess that they would send a literal truckload of dog food. In total, the donated food weighed over 1000 pounds!

And it's just the cherry on top that Chewy partnered with Purina to send top-quality dog food, too. This will ensure that the shelter dogs get all of the nutrients they need to stay strong and healthy--and even to gain weight when needed. It's a literal lifesaver for some of these dogs, and it's all because one animal rescuer took the initiative to help. Thank you, Henry, for being an advocate for these Mexican shelter dogs!
Known for Kindness and Compassion
If you're familiar with Chewy and its excellent customer service, you've likely heard about the generous ways it supports pets and pet owners. Not only does the website offer discounted prices on many popular pet products for buying with auto-ship, but it also provides dog owners with resources like veterinary help and local rescues. You can even donate to animal shelters through the site!
Best of all, though, is the fun and compassionate ways the Chewy customer care team communicates with pet owners. I personally know several people who received a random gift, like a painted portrait of their pet, simply for being a member! Chewy is known for kind gestures like sending flowers and making donations in a pet's name to honor them at the end of their life, so it's easy to see why so many pet parents rave about this company.
After reading about their generous donation to Henry's rescue mission, I'm just about ready to sign my dog for Chewy, too!
