The Chase presenter Bradley Walsh needs bubble-wrapping, according to quizzer Mark Labbett.

During a recent interview with The Mirror, the 58-year-old better known as 'The Beast' commented on Walsh's unsinkable popularity, which sees him booking job after job amidst their hit ITV programme's crazy production schedule.

North of 200 episodes of The Chase and spin-off Beat the Chasers need filming every year.

"Our biggest worry is Bradley being 63 now," said Labbett. "Every month, we're going, 'You okay, Brad? How's the health?' Wrap him in bubble wrap!

"He's so damn popular you're more worried about what he signed up for now."

One notable gig he did turn down, though, is Strictly Come Dancing.

"I've been asked a couple of times to go on Strictly, but I'm not a dancer," Walsh previously told the Sliding Doors podcast. "I don't even think I'm a good dad dancer. I'm a bad dad dancer, which makes things even worse."

Elsewhere on that podcast guest spot, the former Doctor Who companion opened up about seemingly never being off our TV screens.

"It seems like I'm on your screen all the time only because I cram everything in a certain area of the year," Walsh revealed to host Jennie Becker.

"We make 210 Chases a year, 16 Celebrity Chases, 16 Beat the Chasers. It's actually 86 days recording. So out of 365 days, you'd imagine I have loads of time off. But what that does is, it allows you - once you've got your bedrock of shows set in - what that does is that it allows you to then go off and do other things, like The Larkins.

"I don't actually have time off. I have meetings, I have personal appearances that I have to make and stuff like that with other things I've got going on, so it's quite tricky to juggle it about."

He went on to sensationally add: "In a couple of years' time I won't have to do any of it, I'll be retired and that'll be it."

The Chase airs on ITV.
