Cat's Reaction to His Feline Brother Who Got a 'Bad Haircut' Has People Laughing Out Loud

Bad haircuts--we've all had one. I can vividly remember how excited I was in third grade when my hairstylist excitedly talked me into cutting my hair short. It would be easier to care for at a short length, true, but I don't think any of us remembered just how curly my hair was. Let's just say, I looked like a mushroom, and that became the beginning of my headband era.

I can completely relate to one kitty who's trying to be confident after a 'bad haircut.' The grooming idea behind it seems pretty cool--even dinosaur-like--but the execution might be questionable. Even so, this cat is rocking it! His brother, on the other hand, isn't so sure what to think...

Check out the hilarious March 19 video, including a trending audio overlay to add to the silliness.

LOL! I can relate to both cats in this scenario. The brave boy with the bad grooming job is truly doing his best to be confident, but his feline brother isn't great with change. Understandable! I remember feeling absolutely flabbergasted as a child when my dad shaved his mustache, though I don't think I physically recoiled like this confused cat.

While cats are known for being dramatic, and I'm sure this tuxedo cat is no exception, viewers agree his reaction is absolutely warranted. What is that haircut supposed to be exactly? Some people guessed it was a scorpion or even a dinosaur, but others think it might be a feline version of the bubble braid hairstyle.

But did the cats' owner ever answer the question? No, she did not. So we'll all just have to make our best guess! Personally, I think this may be an attempt at a mohawk or even a mullet. It is business in the front and party in the back!

Why Shave a Cat?

Besides creating artistic hairstyles like this one, or like the ones you may see at a pet grooming competition, there are very few reasons to shave a cat. You've likely seen your cat's veterinarian shave a small area on their leg to insert an IV or even to make an incision during a procedure, but this doesn't need to be done for small wounds at home. For larger wounds that may need shaving for cleanliness purposes, a vet visit is warranted anyway.

For long-haired cat breeds, a small number of felines may benefit from a 'sanitary trim' or shave around their backside and private areas. Needless to say, this is best done at the cat's groomer, though some cat owners learn this skill from a groomer, too.

Cats don't need to be shaved to stay cool in the summertime, but rare, severe cases of fleas may warrant a shave. This isn't the case for the cat in this video, though (he'd be kept apart from his brother if he had fleas), so what's behind this funny hairstyle?

Your guess is as good as mine!
