Pricing and specs revealed for all-new Renault Clio

Renault has revealed pricing and specifications for its all-new Clio, available from £14,295.

That price secures an entry-level ‘Play’ variant of the fifth-generation French hatchback, with standard equipment including full LED headlamps, cruise control, DAB radio, a two-inch multimedia screen with Bluetooth support.

The firm’s ‘ADAS’ safety technology suite comes at no cost, featuring lane departure warning, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking and traffic sign recognition.

Up next is the £15,295 Iconic grade, bringing with it the firm’s Easy Link infotainment system and sat-nav on a seven-inch display supporting Apple CarPlay and Android. On top of that, a leather steering wheel, rear parking sensors, 16-inch diamond cut alloys, LED front fog lamps and dark-tinted rear windows.

Following that is the Clio S Edition — though pricing is yet to be confirmed for this option. It adds a seven-inch TFT display in the car’s instrument cluster, upgrades the infotainment screen to a 9.3-inch display while also adding electric rear windows, automatic wipers and headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels and light grey interior touches.

Topping the range is the Renault Sport-inspired R.S. Line grade. This adds a racier styling package, a host of R.S. interior touches, selectable drive mode, a rear-view camera and front parking sensors. R.S. Line starts at £17,795.

Three engine options are available for the new Renault Clio at launch — two petrol and one diesel. For the former, it’s a choice between a 99bhp and 128bhp unit, while the latter sees a sole 84bhp available. A 71bhp petrol option will become available in October, while a newly-developed hybrid powertrain will join the line-up in mid-2020.

Order books for the new Renault Clio are now open, with first deliveries expected in October.
