One-off electrified classic Mini gathers attention at New York Motor Show

To raise awareness about its upcoming production electric car, Mini has created an incredible one-off model. Named the Classic Mini Electric, it's based on the bodyshell of the original 1950s design, but the 998cc, four-cylinder engine has been replaced by a pure electric powerplant.

With the firm's first series production EV, the Mini Electric, due next year, Mini is aiming to raise exposure and hopefully gather some pre-orders for the upcoming eco-car by exciting the public with the Classic Mini Electric.
