An extra £100m has been allocated to England's local councils in order to help fund road repairs in the wake of Storm Emma and the 'Beast from the East'.

Transport secretary Chris Grayling announced the extra funding, which will help patch up around two million potholes and help strengthen roads against future severe weather.
