Mercedes has unveiled prices and specifications for the new A-Class hatchback, with the range starting from £25,800.
Three engines are available – two petrol units and one diesel. The 114bhp A 180d diesel is the entry-level engine, and is available from £25,800. As for petrol options, you have the choice of a 161bhp A 200 and 221bhp A 250 costing from £27,500 and £30,240 respectively.

Three trim levels are available – SE, Sport and AMG Line.
Standard equipment on the SE includes two seven-inch infotainment displays, voice recognition powered by a Siri-style voice activation tool - operated using the words 'Hey Mercedes' – a DAB radio and 16-inch alloy wheels.
Standard safety equipment includes active lane-keeping assist and speed limit assist.
Sport trim adds LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control and different upholstery.
Top-of-the-range AMG Line gives a sporty look, thanks to 18-inch alloy wheels, AMG bodystyling, microfiber upholstery and a three-spoke steering wheel.
Several equipment packs are also available as an option extra, with the Premium Line pack being our pick of the bunch. It includes two 10.25-inch displays, an upgraded sound system, parking assist and 64-colour Ambient lighting. This pack costs £2,395. A Premium Plus pack and Advanced Navigation equipment line are also available.
The new A-Class is available to order now, with first deliveries arriving towards the end of May.
