A Florida police officer was left injured after being forced to cling onto a moving car for half a mile, following a routine traffic stop that went awry. The incident was captured on the officer's body-mounted camera.
The officer, Jon Cusack, was called to a shopping centre car park after staff there saw two non-responsive individuals in a car, with a bag of drugs on the dashboard. When Cusack arrived at the vehicle, he confronted the driver, named as Thomas Cabrera, before opening the car door.

Cabrera responded by putting the car in Drive and putting his foot down. Cusack was forced to cling to the car's door for half a mile as Cabrera accelerated, eventually falling to the ground after what police said was half a mile.
Cusack was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while Cusack was arrested following a car chase and charged with attempted murder, fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended licence, and reckless driving. He also admitted to using cocaine and heroin before the footage began.
