Simon Cowell’s neighbour threatens him with golf club over parking row

File photo dated 20/06/17 of Simon Cowell, who has said the tumble down stairs which forced him to miss this weekend's X Factor was a "huge shock", with the TV judge now vowing to take better care of himself.

Media mogul Simon Cowell reportedly had to be saved by police after a clash with his neighbours turned ugly. The X Factor judge, 58, was threatened with a golf club.

The neighbour, furious over parking issues in the exclusive Kensington neighbourhood, reportedly threatened to smash Cowell's fleet of luxury cars, yelling: "I've had enough of Simon Cowell".

The disagreement began when Cowell's chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce arrived, followed by several other vehicles. The neighbour then exited his home, with one witness claiming he was 'screaming' outside Cowell's house and threatening to smash the cars.

"I was gobsmacked. I have never seen anything like it," said Will Lloyd, a witness. "This bloke was properly furious. He was going crazy.

"It was scary – he was absolutely ranting while waving a golf club about. He started screaming 'What is he even famous for?'"

In a rant to The Sun, the neighbour explained his actions.

"I wrote a sign on my door saying, 'Please do not park in front of my house' and they still did it," he said.

"But I'm always unhappy with Cowell – he's a t***. Some prat – the X Factor guy? I lost my temper last night and I'll do it again – do not park near my frontage. It happens every night."

Police attended the incident, and The Sun reports two passing motorcycle cops warned the neighbour he could be cautioned if he didn't calm down.

In a later interview with the paper, Cowell's neighbour blamed the star for attracting crime to the area.

"He leaves his garage doors open every night – even the police are fed up with him. His security guards don't shut them till 12 o'clock and that's a problem for me because he got robbed.

"If you do that they're not just going to come and take biscuits. He is the one who is causing all the problems – I'm sick of his face."
