Icy road causes chaos in Russia

You might shake your head at the yearly influx of video footage from Britain in winter, as icy roads and driving snow shows off our complete inability to cope with inclement weather. But recent film from Russia has proved that even those in snowier parts of the world can make mistakes.

The video, captured by a passerby, shows a snow-covered road with stationary cars left abandoned by owners unable to get up it. However, in true domino form, it only takes one vehicle to ruin the day of many owners – and a Mazda van does just that.

Sliding down the hill completely out of control, the van first crashes into a black SUV, before striking a glancing blow on a Mitsubishi Shogun. This tap is enough to upset the Mitsubishi's grip, and both cars continue sliding down the road.

The van then strikes a tractor, which also joins the pair in their slippery descent. The three vehicles finally come to a shuddering halt at the bottom of the hill, having hit several cars (and nearly flattened a few pedestrians) on the way.
