The Porsche Macan is a seriously well-sorted SUV, and like most manufacturers Porsche offers it over a wide range. You can have a modest, diesel-powered Macan or, if you want the top-of-the-range, you can have the barnstorming Macan Turbo with Performance Package.
Now, though, Porsche has gone one step further and added a further tier to the Macan's model line-up. It's called the Porsche Macan Turbo Exclusive Performance Edition, and is the pinnacle of the Macan range.
It's based on the standard Macan Turbo with Performance Package, which means it's fitted with a 3.6-litre V6 engine. Twin-turbochargers push power up to a very healthy 434bhp, meaning 0-60mph in the region of 4.2 seconds. Luckily, it stops and handles as well as it accelerates, with high-performance 390mm brake discs and electronically-controlled suspension.
It wouldn't be an "Exclusive" high-end Porsche without some added visual glitz to justify the title, so the model sits on 21-inch alloy wheels with design inspired by the 911 Turbo. It also features LED lights front and rear, while the spoiler, side skirts and rear apron get 'Carmine Red' accents.
Black leather upholstery is the order of the day inside, but it's been jazzed up with red accents for the seat bolsters, stitching, seatbelts and embroidered 'Turbo' on the headrests.
Porsche is currently taking orders for the new Macan Turbo Exclusive Performance Edition in Germany, and prices kick off from €116,091 – an impressive €24,000 more expensive than the car it's based on, and the wrong side of £100,000 in old money.
